Song Recital with Soprano Sumi Hwang and Helmut Deutsch
SOPRANO SUMI HWANG AND HELMUT DEUTSCH IN RECITAL FROM THEATER BONN
Soprano Sumi Hwang triumphed at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2014, winning the Grand Prize. She went on to make her US debut later in the year, prompting the Washington Post to praise her “pearly clarity” and “celestial high notes” and to describe her recital as “a knockout”.
Sonostream.tv presents Sumi Hwang in a recital given in Spring 2015 in the German city of Bonn, where she is a member of the opera company. In a richly romantic programme of Schubert, Wolf, Rachmaninov, Berg and Strauss, she collaborates with Helmut Deutsch, the pianist of choice for such singers as Diana Damrau and Jonas Kaufmann.
